About the Role

The Group Home Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operations of a residential home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and person-centred environment for the individuals we serve. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, this position oversees staff supervision, household management, and the consistent delivery of high-quality care in alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, accountability, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to support and guide a team while maintaining a compassionate and respectful approach to care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned group home, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment.

  • Lead, support, and supervise frontline staff, providing clear direction, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback.

  • Ensure consistent, person-centred care by actively supporting staff in meeting the individual needs of residents.

  • Maintain and monitor individual support plans (ISPs), ensuring goals, routines, and outcomes are consistently followed and documented.

  • Develop and oversee monthly activity plans, ensuring residents have meaningful opportunities for engagement, recreation, and community inclusion.

  • Manage household operations, including groceries, meal planning, and maintaining appropriate levels of supplies and personal care items.

  • Coordinate staff scheduling, shift coverage, and training to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times.

  • Complete and review documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and compliance records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Respond to and support frontline staff in real-time with client care needs, behavioural support, and problem-solving.

  • Maintain open and professional communication with families, caregivers, and community partners.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, licensing requirements, and funder expectations.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement within the home and support the implementation of quality and safety initiatives.

The hours of work currently are Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with 12 PM-1 PM off for lunch. On-call responsibilities on a rotational basis with other managers- one weekend every 8 weeks. Monthly EDO.

Starting Salary - $55,809.76/annum

Qualifications

Preference will be given to individuals with:

  • An acceptable combination of training and experience in working with persons who have intellectual and physical disabilities;

  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, managerial, and personal care skills;

  • Leadership skills with the ability to work in a team environment while providing direction and supervision;

  • Can effectively multi-task while prioritizing the workload with good time management

  • CLSD Level 1 & 2;

  • OH&S Level 1,2 & Supervisory;

  • CPR and 1st Aide Certificates;

  • Valid driver's license;

  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is required.

Requirements

  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sectors check

  • Some evening and weekend work may be required
