About Us

Battlefords Residential Services Inc. (BRSI) is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to providing residential and support services for adults with intellectual disabilities. Guided by our mission - “Building rewarding lives for people with exceptionalities” - we operate with compassion, accountability, and innovation to make a lasting impact in our community. BRSI operates six group homes serving 35 individuals, Supported Living Programs for up to 15 individuals, and a community-based day program for 12 participants.

About the Role

BRSI is currently seeking volunteer Board Members to join our dedicated governance team. As a member of the Board of Directors, you will help guide the strategic direction, financial oversight, and mission integrity of the organization.

This is a rewarding opportunity for community-minded individuals who want to make a lasting impact in the lives of others while contributing their skills and experience to a respected non-profit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend monthly Board meetings and participate on committees as needed.

  • Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and community engagement.

  • Ensure strong governance and accountability in accordance with the Non-Profit Corporations Act and BRSI bylaws.

  • Act as an ambassador for BRSI in the community, promoting inclusion and awareness.

  • Support the Executive Director in advancing BRSI’s mission and sustainability.

Qualifications

We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Skills or experience in any of the following areas are considered assets:

  • Finance, accounting, or business administration

  • Human resources, legal, or governance

  • Health and social services

  • Fund development, communications, or community engagement

Previous board or committee experience is helpful but not required. Training and orientation will be provided.
